Protagonists

In my opinion, a story with me as the protagonist would very intriguing, and a good read. To further extend that idea, I think an interesting novel could be written about any student in our class. We all have extremely unique experiences that all resulted in being accepted at one of the most prestigious universities in the world. If a compelling novel can be written about someone with dyslexia and his struggles to create his own place in the big city, I would argue that a novel about a student in our class could potentially be extremely compelling. I think one reason that Panorama City was an interesting read, was that it showcased a very original perspective. The main character just felt different, and it was obvious he didn’t fully fit with the societies he was placed in. In essence, the book’s perspective was interesting because it was intensely unique. One thing I have realized about Stanford students is that we are all extremely unique. The people I have gotten to know here all seem to encapsulate an individualized unique perspective, perhaps this is the reason we were all admitted. This unique perspective paves the road for a great novel. As we saw with Panorama City, a unique perspective allows normal, mundane events the ability to be seen in a new light.

Life through my eyes is of course interesting to myself, but I also believe that others would be intrigued to see how my train of thought works, and how my philosophies on life influence the way I act and live my life. In my opinion, interesting experiences are peppered throughout my life, that in turn have created my very character. This would allow deep character building throughout a novel based on my life. Also, one of the most interesting parts of novels, in my opinion, is being allowed access to the information, or events that the narrator wishes nobody knew about. Of course I also have certain things I wish people never knew about, but if told in a novel... it would be a damn good read. Also, my current life is spent lounging around a utopia filled with geniuses... the amount of interesting chapters that could result from telling stories about Stanford is inconceivable, and would probably be enough to fill a whole book. In the grand scheme of things, not many people get to experience a place like Stanford, and this piece in particular makes for an interesting story.

I think any person in our class would have a great story to tell. When I’m in class, I look around and see a myriad of skin colors, and I often hear multiple languages being spoken in class. All of our backgrounds and upbringings are unique, and I would personally love any story that detailed these experiences. All of us will go on to do great things, and most of us have a strong, individual character under our skins that would be interesting enough to write an entire story about. Our characters are unique, they deserve attention, they deserve a story.
