A Narrative of Me?

As to the question of if my life would make a viable novel, I think the answer is unequivocally yes. There are a couple of reasons and rational for this prospective. The first has not to do with novel narrative, but television shows – specifically sitcoms. The second rational is based on human nature. My final argument is based what a novel is and what makes a great novel.
A sitcom is a time honored and well test successful narrative based on simple family life. There are of course sitcoms that add extraordinary situations to the formula, but many are based on the simple comedy and joy of everyday interactions. Even if my life would be seen as mundane and ordinary in many regards, though I think nobody life is mundane as I will address later, there is still comedy and beauty in that everyday life. A novel follows many of the same narrative principles as a television show, as with both it is about anything can be fun to experience if it present well. The show Modern Family is fun not because of zany plots, but because good writing framing everyday occurrences in a fun and moving light. A novel if written well enough could be amazing and simply be about a man sitting by himself in a chair. It would be very challenging to write such a novel, because it would have to be entirely driven by literary skill. So, the question of whether or not anyone’s life is interesting enough to succeed as a novel is an empty one. Of course it would require a writer of considerable skill to make some stories enjoyable, but that is true with most non-fantasy/science fiction works (they can rely on the plot a bit more to drive them, though good writing never hurts). I think every story deserves a chance because every story has the potential to be great some are just a little trickier than others.
The second reason I think my story would make a perfectly acceptable novel is that every human is different. This is further proof that nobody’s story is completely bland and boring there is always something that differentiates them, that makes them special. A novel that is written well lets the reader see that uniqueness and enjoy it. I think I have many things that make me unique and I am sure that people, could find those aspects interesting. Every person alive has an interesting story just by existing.
If a college student asks almost any English professor what is the single most important aspect of a novel nine times out of ten the professor will say the characters. It does not matter what someone has done if the character is interesting and believable. In terms of believability as a real human as long as the author of my story is not a complete moron I should come across as believable. The interesting aspect I have already covered, every person’s character is interesting. So every living person’s story has the most important element of a good novel primed and ready, a good character. Of course all of this assuming that someone who can actually write is given my story, I as a personal issue would not want my story written by some who was a bad writer. As this is an abstract question however, I will make the assumption that the writer is a talented one.
